This is a Drawing I did in two steps and merged them afterwards with PS.
First I drew the room, and afterwards the chained wretch there. I am very very proud how the muscle structure of the guy worked out, also the stones/rubble and cracks. I used an eraser, and smudge/smear-stick to get the grain realistic.
The digital changes I made were:
Cleaning smudgy pencil crap away (my hands were black and the paper grey all over) Layer Merging Light & Dark / Contrast Changing Colors from grey to brown Adding Canvas Texture to give it a painting quality.
The idea came, when I was writing on a fan fiction for a contest at The "Witcher" Website: [link]
My story was one of the winners
Copyright BlaBla: [link] Since this picture is not explicitly fanart... it's MINE!
Great! I like the general atmosphere of the image
Though I haven't read the story yet, I can say I have a pretty good idea who the chained guy is...
And he reminds me of Dantes/MonteCristo/Gankutsuou while in prison.
Thanks quite proud of the outcome. The hands have given me a horrendous headache.
I figured I should have drawn him even more leanly... goddess knows how long he has been in there.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
